Years after

2.5 years into Adulthood

Thought I found the perfect job after graduating, but turned out that there's more to life! SO here I am into my new job after 2.3 years in audit!

Life is way better after audit. 😛

I am compared against lesser, happier at work, enjoying work etc etc

Envisioned myself to stay in Big 4 for the rest of my life but I guess that's not a place to stay just purely by being hardworking.

Glad I found another job that is way more suitable for myself.

Also, no our BTO is not ready - not until Q4 2023 which means I have one more year to save up!

Re-posted again BECAUSE I needed an outlet to type my thoughts (which I will be seeing again probably the next few years HAHAHA) but just really happy today!

Scored an A- for my performance review, better pay & good bonus (way better than as an auditor) & most importantly, hardwork is being recognised.

All along, I thought money could buy me happiness and I would be saatisfied with a Big 4 life because of the pay progression. But no, soon realised money is secondary and being RECOGNISED with what you have put in is first.

Here's to hoping life gets better from today!

2019

Wow how has it been almost 3 years of education - I am finally completing my degree in 2 months.. and graduating in August 2019!

Remembered in 2016 when I first enrolled myself into UOL (heard of all the horror stories of studying), I was anxious, stressed and nervous that I couldn't cope and all.

Today, I am honestly still far from First Class actually, I would need 3 more As....

BUT on a brighter side, I still managed to secure a second uppers in my year 2!

Further...... I MANAGED TO SECURE A FT JOB POSITION WITH MY DREAM FIRM.

So it's truly a good end to my degree & the start of adulthood.

I am very blessed (I've probably said this plenty of times to everyone who congratulated me) and I have no idea what was it that they see in me (or rather my resume LOLOLOL) but like how I took the chance to enter UOL, imma taking another shot to prove myself in this firm.

I hope I do well and show them that UOL graduates are equally good and that I am worthy of the position.

and at the end of the day,

I have no first class (or maybe yes?? I am trying hard still but chances are slim LOOOL but I shouldn't jinx myself first) but I have plenty of experiences which I have FORTUNATELY done during the period of 3 years and having an offer before graduation..

That is truly the best!

Edit:

Oh yes yes!

We've also secured our BTO at the East area and the project will be ready in 4 years time!

Coincidentally, the date of the interview was also the day of house selection. That date is now our special day to remember!

Ah adulthood seems fun~

May I never lose the enthusiasm and eagerness towards life. :')

Survived Year 1 in SIM-UOL

HI,

After a year of not updating this space, I am finally back to announce that I HAVE SURVIVED YEAR 1 IN UOL. I was so so so relieved after receiving my grades because it was within my expectations! Furthermore, I am quite glad I did not listen to others' discouragements to not go to UOL because it is known as one of the toughest school.

I remember writing in my dayre way before Year 1 started about how my friends have been persuading me to choose other schools because of how difficult UOL is and I should not enrol because private schools are ALL THE SAME. I beg to differ though and have never regretted my choice.

Honestly speaking, I never had the idea of wanting to take a degree for the sake of taking or for "better" job prospects. It may sound damn naive, but my true intention of wanting to study is mainly due to my lack of knowledge. My thoughts are - the tougher the school is, the more challenging the papers are, the more I learn. That was what I wanted out of my 3 years of education.

So at the end of my grandmother story is... I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT

IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN TOO.

It's not THAT difficult. Most importantly, you just have to understand the purpose of studying.
